Chicago Observation TowerCHICAGO, ILLINOIS
When cruising the Great Lakes on a Chicago cruise one of the best attractions you’ll find in Chicago is the 360 Chicago Observation Tower, formerly known as John Hancock Center. You’ll see extraordinary views that on a clear day, allow you to see 4 states from the 94th floor. The tower has X-shaped cross braces that are 18 stories tall. The 44th floor features a private grocery store and swimming pool. The elevators in the tower travel at 20 miles an hour making them some of the fastest in the country. |
The temperature at the top is an average of six degrees cooler than at the bottom of the tower. Also on the top, the tower has a ride called Tilt which is something you won’t want to miss. It towers 1,030 feet above Chicago and it is the highest thrill ride in the city and one of the highest on the planet. The ride tilts out so you are downward facing a view of the city.
The observation deck on the 94th floor measures 17,000 square feet. There are interactive touch screens that help you learn about the 360 degree sights you will see, and it is available in 6 different languages.
You can also grab a drink at Bar 94 which is their very own in-house bar located 1000 feet above Magnificent Mile. They offer beer wine and cocktails, many of which are crafted from Revolution Brewing and KOVAL Distillery.
