LOW ISLAND PARK
Within walking distance of downtown, Low Island is a great location to stroll while watching the boats cruise through the North Channel. Low Island Park is the perfect spot for a family picnic and has a fully equipped playground, swimming dock, clean beach, soccer field, volleyball, baseball diamonds along with a concrete skateboard park.

MCLEAN'S MOUNTAIN TRAIL
This trail allows a walk on the heights over Little Current with views over the LaCloche Mountains and North Channel of Lake Huron, the Voyageur route of only 130 years ago. Home to many threatened or endangered species including the Lady's Slipper Orchid, Massasauga Rattlesnake, Hart's Tongue Fern among thousand year old cedar trees and a wide diversity of plants and animals. Great place to go in the autumn to see all the colours changing.
BRIDAL VEIL FALLS
For an amazing sight you will want to head down to the small settlement of Kagawong and enjoy the natural beauty of Bridal Veil Falls. You can view the falls from a lookout above, or follow the winding path down to the bottom, where you can get behind the falls and cool off in the waterfall pool.

Get to know Little Current, Manitoulin, Ontario
- The name “Manitoulin” means "spirit island" in the Ojibwe language of Anishinaabemowin.
- Manitoulin is the largest island to be surrounded by fresh water in the world..
- Manitoulin is only one of approximately 32,000 islands located within the Great Lakes. Most of the islands remain uninhabited today, however around 30 islands have permanent residents along with summer cottages for transient visitors.
- Manitoulin has 108 freshwater lakes that also contain their own islands, that also have ponds within them.
- In 1913, the Current Swing Bridge was built. Almost 100 years later, the bridge is heavily used by vehicle traffic and is the only land link to Manitoulin Island. Back in 1901 the bridge was taken over by the Canadian Pacific Railway and it was decided that the bridge would remain open at all times for marine traffic, with the exception of an occasional train passing through.
