Barbie Expo MuseumMONTREAL, QUEBEC CITY, CANADA
Looking for a fascinating experience when cruising to Montreal? Everyone’s had a Barbie or Ken doll in their life, right? Well, either way, you’ll want to check out the World’s Largest Barbie exhibit in Montreal, Quebec Canada. Yes, it’s true Barbie has her own exhibit at Les Cours Mont-Royal in downtown Montreal. This permanent exhibit features more than 1,000 Barbie Dolls. The collection includes unique one-of-a-kind Barbie dolls, Hollywood stars, glamorous outfits that were created by some very famous fashion designers over the years. |
Barbie Creator, Inventor, and Mother Ruth Handler (who co-founded Mattel) watched her daughter playing with paper dolls for hours. This sparked the idea that became one of the most iconic toys in the history of Mattel. Ruth Handler always said “My whole philosophy of Barbie was that, through the doll, the little girl could be anything she wanted to be. Barbie always represented the fact that a woman has choices.” Nothing could be truer in today’s world as young girls can imagine and become anything they want to be.
There is no charge to see the more than 5,000 square foot exhibit. Some of the dolls you will see date back to 1959 when the first Barbie model was released. Over the years, Barbie has always kept up with the latest in fashion trends which you’ll see decades of some of the biggest trends that styled the iconic Barbie doll. Some of the more iconic one-of-a-kind dolls you will see are Lucille Ball, Kate Middleton, Cleopatra, Marie Antoinette, Juicy Couture, and even Grace Kelly.
Many of the dolls were donated to the exhibit by designers and collectors from around the globe. The museum does accept donations for Make-A-Wish Quebec. Make-A-Wish was selected because they give to a great cause worldwide.
