On board Blount cruise ships, you'll feel like you're part of the Blount family. This cruise line is significantly smaller than some of our larger, more commercialized offerings available on the Great Lakes. Purposeful in staying true to their smaller size and offerings, Blount is able to offer an immersive experience that takes voyagers to places other cruises can't.
Blount Small Ship Adventures' vessels, the Grande Caribe and Grande Mariner, each are able to carry up to 84 passengers in complete, classic style. The cruise line prioritizes exploration and education on these voyages, but doesn't let comfort slip by the wayside. Over the years, Blount has continuously updated their ships to keep everything on board modern -- including cabins, dining, amenities, and other aspects of life on the Grande Caribe and Grande Mariner. With each Blount cruise ship, travelers will get an in-depth look at life on the Great Lakes while taking a break from the hustle and bustle of regular life.

Cabins aboard Blount's Cruise Ships
Cabins on BLOUNT's small cruise ships feature all the comforts of a high-end hotel or bed-and-breakfast. Arranged into five different categories, each cabin features a large bed, in-room climate control, storage, and restroom. BLOUNT believes humans need time to unplug, take in their surroundings, and engage with life around them. Due to BLOUNT's ideals, there are no televisions in the cabins. Instead, guests are urged to visit the ships lounges or decks in the free time to learn more and talk with others.
Purpose-built, the typical cabin size is around 100 square feet. This is because of the smaller, more navigable style of BLOUNT cruise ship types. This goes hand-in-hand with BLOUNT's passion for getting guests to take a break. Cabins are meant to be a place to sleep and get ready, but the real adventure lies outside of your room. Here, we've listed each of BLOUNT's cabin offerings on the Grande Mariner and Grande Caribe.

- Single Cabins. These small, individualized cabins open right onto the sun deck and feature a twin bed and private bathroom.
- Category I Cabins. The Category I cabins are located below-deck. These either have no window or a porthole, but are the most affordable cabins on the Grande Caribe and Grande Mariner.
- Category II Cabins. A step above Category I, these all feature port windows and are located on the bow of either ship.
- Category III Cabins. These are a bit larger than the cabins mentioned so far, and feature large windows to watch the Great Lakes pass by.
- Category IV Cabins. The largest and most luxurious of BLOUNT's offerings, these offer windows that open to the Great Lakes and are located right off the ships' sun decks.
Blount Small Ship Adventure Amenities
In their commitment to getting people to take a breather from television and daily life, voyages on BLOUNT small ships engage guests -- inviting them to participate in activities, dining, and conversations. In addition to all amenities included in BLOUNT's cabins, you'll be able to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the on board dining room, or take your meal elsewhere to eat. Bringing your own bottle for drinks is recommended too. While you certainly don't need it, the line promotes sustainability -- and can offer you all the beverage basics free of charge.
Grande Caribe and Grande Mariner Cruise Ships
While we're big fans of food here, BLOUNT has a lot more to offer. On these cruises, you can also sit in on guest lectures and learn more about each Great Lakes destination you visit. In addition, you'll have access to on board kayaks and bicycles. You can even take the Grande Caribe or Grande Mariner's snorkeling equipment out to see the underwater life.
Blount Cruise Ship Life and Atmosphere
With BLOUNT's small ship cruises, you'll be encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities to learn and explore the world around you. Life on each of their twin ships is casual -- unlike some cruises, there's no point in dressing up. It's more important that you're ready for whatever adventure the next day brings. By the end of each cruise on BLOUNT's ships, you'll know plenty of friendly faces by name, being able to share stories of the grand adventures you've had.
