Summer days were long so Tina and her siblings would spend it log rolling. When they grew older they became interested in chopping, sawing, speed climbing, and ax throwing. All that led to the family eventually starting Scheer’s Lumberjack Show. The show became a permanent fixture I the area and they even took it on the road. Tina performed with them for 15 years until in 1996 she decided to branch off and start The Great Maine Lumberjack Show. Maine seemed like a logical place to host her show since it plays an important roll in history as the birthplace of logging in America.
In addition to her lumberjack show, Tina founded the World Champion Lumberjills. It was the first of its kind as an All Women’s Logging Sports exhibition of traveling performers. She was a natural promoter of this sport for women. Not just from a competitive standpoint, but as crowd pleasing exhibitions as well. Tina was responsible for sponsoring and promoting the first woman’s Underhand Chopping and Cross Cut Sawing events that took place at the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward, Wisconsin. Not only did the events take place in the U.S., she took them to The Royal Sydney Show in Australia, which has grown to a worldwide display of promoting and competing in Lumberjack and Lumberjill events. Tina is probably best known for her reality TV appearance on CBS’s Survivor Panama.
