Marine Mammal Interpretation Center,
|
The center is the most popular museum on the North Shore and it is managed by the Group for Research and Education on Marine Mammals. This fantastic center offers a presentation on their exhibit about the research of the St. Lawrence area whales.
At the center, you will meet a 42 foot long sperm whale, and be able to touch a narwhal tooth, and explore the sonic whale universe. The center is also proud to be home to the largest collection of whale skeletons in Canada. If you are fortunate enough, you may even be able to witness a beluga swimming off of the center.
Every day, there is the “Researcher’s capsule”. Depending on what time the scientific teams and researchers return from sea, you can enjoy their latest updates in the showroom.
Another fun activity is Whale Song Lessons located in the Jardin de la Greve where you can get your official whale song diploma when you learn how to communicate with whales. The cost of this activity is free to all.
Most guests who are visiting the center should plan on at least one hour or more to tour the facility. Comfortable shoes are encouraged. Covid-19 safety measures are in place so mask is required, along with hand washing. Learn more about Great Lakes Tours and Attractions and cruising Tadoussac, Quebec with Great Lakes Cruises.
