The Soo Lock Boat Tours will give you an up close and personal view of the locks. From May through the summer months, the boats can traverse the 21 foot difference between the upper river and the lower river better known as St. Mary Rapids. This is the very best opportunity to actually experience the tour boat raising and/or lowering with 22 million gallons of water that are gravity fed instead of pump fed.
The boat tours will also take you on a dinner cruise or a lighthouse cruise.

It is a fully narrated tour that takes a half a day by starting off by going through the Soo Locks and navigating along the St. Marys waterway to the entrance to the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Superior. Something you’ll want to watch for is the navigation markers that lead the ships to the Soo Locks from Lake Superior.
