The Boldt Castle & Yacht HouseALEXANDRIA BAY, NY
The Boldt Castle and Yacht House, located near Alexandria Bay, NY in the 1000 Islands is a favorite excursion for those cruise passengers in port. The construction was started in 1900 by George C. Boldt, a millionaire hotel magnate. The hotel was to be a gift to his wife Louise as a second summer dream home. The castle rivals any of those built in Europe. Unfortunately, just a few short months before the castle was to be completed, Mrs. Boldt unexpectedly passed away. Mr. Boldt was so deeply saddened and traumatized that he immediately stopped all construction. The property stayed vacant for more than seventy years. |
The Thousand Islands Bridge Authority (TIBA), owns and operates Boldt Castle and the Boldt Yacht House today. We encourage you to explore this unforgettable castle on your stop in Alexander Bay.
